Noise Pop is exciting every year, but this time they're really getting me. The addition of the lovely Fox Theatre has certainly upped the ante. Things are starting off strong with Yoko Ono coming to the Fox with her freakishly attractive son, plus Cornelius and Deerhoof. Should be interesting, and YES the general badges are good for this show.I am suuuper excited about Black Prairie and Avi Buffalo at Rickshaw. If you haven't heard Avi Buffalo yet, you should check them out. These kids are alright. (Sorry, Avi Buffalo if you've gotten that line before!) Their song "What's in it for?" never ever ever ever gets old. Fitting for such a young band. I know what you're gonna say: Shins and Band of Horses, right? Yeah. With a single now out on SubPop and a full-length coming this spring...I'd catch them now while you can still see their preciousness in a small venue. Trust.

Lets not forget about the exciting news that our bastard stepchild, The Rumble, and its illegitimate daddies The Owl Mag and Futuresounds, are all teaming up with Noise Pop this year to celebrate a change of venue (The Rumble is now at Du Nord!), The Owl Mag's 5 year anniversary, and the great BAGel Ted's 7 year anniversary of bringing music to your ears. It's almost too much to celebrate.
With Jaguar Love, My First Earthquake, The Butterfly Bones, BAGel Ted (duh) and more!
